INSULATION
The double-cell construction offers significant airborne noise reduction (58dB). The outer cell consists of sand-filled cement blocks.
ROOM ACOUSTICS
There was a point of ambiguity regarding the inner cell walls; to either make them rigid enough (maximizing insulation) or to go for a gypsumboard-type material. The first choice was adopted, thus leading to the extensive use of custom-made membrane absorbers. The subsequent layout comprises a modular hybrid design of porous and membrane panels.
